Is that there a tennis court on that roof.
Up here in Mystic CT ... they call that a widow's peak. The only people who could afford homes like that back in the day were sea captains and their wives used to stand up there watching and waiting for their men to return from whaling. Beautiful home; beautiful picture!
They call it a widow's peak down here also...Beaufort is an old seaport. It is were Black Beard's ship the Queen Ann's Revenge was just found. They are finding new stuff everyday and placing it in the Mariner's Museum. If the Lady of the house was watching that day, she could have watched Black Beard's Ship Burn. The British beheaded him and swung his head from the mast. They have lots of old houses there, dating back to the 1700's.
