ABOUT MO, FOR THOSE IN THE KNOW
Just a quick update. Mo has been home almost a week. The house is a wreck from all the projects I have going on. Half of the kitchen is a workshop. She continues to improve in spite of my cooking. I watch her learn new tricks all the time. I thought she would be restricted to certain areas of the house but her managerial determination drives her to all living area spaces. She is restricted to a wheelchair for the time being but hobbles around on her walker in restricted spaces. The PT Nurse will be coming today and has permission from the Dr. to start Movement Rehab of the leg. This should not be fun. I will continue to modify the house as required but pray for Mo's Patience as certain jobs require time and skill which I apparently do not have enough of at this time. Her bathroom is about 90% complete. I have some touch up and a sink yet to install. She is thrilled to be able to get out and about but it does tire her out. She made a trip to her hairdresser yesterday. That is a big step. We had to get new cell phones as it seems Alltel had some technical issues. We need the phones in case Mo needs assistance during the day. We were not the only ones to lose our phones it seems...Could be a plot! Not that I don't trust large corporations. Even with all the requirements placed on her, Mo seems to be doing well. We give thanks for all the things that went right rather than waste energy on all of the things that could have happened or didn't happen. The Grandkids have been a positive force in Mo's recovery and the support of our children has been tremendous. My time as a bachelor was limited but Mo was not gone long enough for me to do long term DAMAGE to myself. The kids think I survive on C-Rations. I do make some things well, RESERVATIONS! Well Mo should be needing pain meds and rest tonight but I know her focus will be on my projects getting completed. Drilling into tile will be my next trick. I have ripped out the whole bathroom floor, down to the crawl space and installed a new tile floor, I do not suggest this as a weekend DIY project. Remodelling takes forever. Mo seems pleased that she does not have to do her duty in the woods though. The honey do list has not grown but it has taken on a higher priority. She is safe and functioning though. A friend Donna came over and vacuumed for her last night and I have taken my projects outside for cutting, as to keep the dust down. Mark (Donna's Husband)prepared us a wonderful dinner for us last night and I have put more miles on my car than I care to imagine at these gas prices. I have been "DRIVIN MISS CRAZY" all over the place. She can only take so much excitement at one time, so I limit her time on the highways. With that leg brace on she can only accelerate, but it makes the drive so quick. Go to get ready for work and taking the grandkids to school. Meg is coming in from MN next week to be with her Mom and that will allow me to finish up some of my projects. You will know she is really on the road to recovery when she can take a nice bath instead of a shower, but the fact that she can get to the bathroom alone is a small miracle. Mo is trying her best to get back to normal. This was a devastating injury and was life threatening. She has a long hard road ahead of her during her recovery and rehab but she is doing all she is capable of at this time. Keep her in your prayers and she thanks you all for your kind words and support. She has not gotten accustomed to my shaving my hair off but she came home too early, and I didn't have time to grow it back. You have to stir it up every once in awhile right? I will try to get back more and keep you updated. My focus has been elsewhere as you know. Love you guys!
