CAN YOU SEE THE CASTLE AT THE TOP

  Kentai Bridge was built during the Japanese Feudal Period, to protect the Castle at the top of the "hill". As Marines we studied the military placement of the castle, as it commanded a view of the whole valley up to the Sea of Japan. Warriors would be placed on the lower arches of the bridge with pikes, the results would be fatal to attackers. No frontal attack would go unpunished. I have actually climbed the mountain to the castle. During WWII these hills would have been used to fight Americans had not the A bomb been dropped just North of this place. Estimates say that 2 million Americans would have died trying to take this country by land...
