DUPONT GUN POWDER MILLS

This is Hagley Mueseum. When DuPonts fled France during the French Revolution, they came here to Delaware. Mr DuPont was shooting at a charging bear and his black powder did not ignite. He built these mills along the Brandywine River to make his own powder after that incident. The rest is history for the DuPont Company...but it started here along the Brandywine. I played along the Brandwine River, The Christiana River, The Red Clay Creek and the Delaware River. I must have water on the brain, or it is because I'm a Cancer "Crab".
