BATTERY PARK


AS CHILDREN MY FATHER WOULD TAKE US HERE TO PLAY. THIS IS ON THE DELAWARE RIVER IN WILMINGTON.

BUT NEW JERSEY IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RIVER. You can't trust people from JERSEY...they live on the wrong side of the river..
Usually State boundries go halfway out into the river...not here...Delaware controls the whole river. It has been that way since the 1700s. All that means, is that you can't build structures and the like in the river without Delaware's approval. Access is not denied but Pipelines and landings or piers need approval...This prevents hazards to navigation. Every court case NJ has brought against Delaware they have lost..
