VETERANS DESERVE MORE THAN LIP SERVICE
I WAS UPSET WITH THE ARTICLES I READ ABOUT WALTER REED HOSPITAL IN WASHINGTON, D.C.. IT IS NOT ONLY THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE'S RESPONSIBILITY AND THE VETERAN'S ADMINISTRATION. CONGRESS IS NOT OWNING UP TO IT'S PART IN THIS PROBLEM...BUDGET CUTS AND LACK OF OVERSIGHT ARE JUST AS MUCH AT FAULT. DON'T TELL US HOW MUCH YOU ARE OUTRAGED...FIX IT! AND STOP THE GRANDSTANDING. STOP WASTING OUR TIME LISTENING TO YOUR MEANINGLESS DRAMA, WHILE YOU WRITE RESOLUTIONS "WITH THE BLOOD OF OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN" TO CUT MORE FUNDING FROM THE TROOPS IN THE FIELD. THE HONORABLE REPRESENTATIVE "MURTHA" FROM PENNSYLVANIA, SHOULD BE HORSEWHIPPED AND RUN OUT OF TOWN.

Ugh. I've been keeping track of this story via the Imus in the Morning show. It's completely pathetic and sickening.
On an up-note - some wealthy civilian businessmen decided to band together and put up a fabulous Veteran's aide center in Texas (I believe) ... ultra modern and well staffed and equipped.
Does it REALLY take civilians to come to the rescue though? Sad.
It really does because the gov't will only give the troops lip service..there is no complaint department to turn too and no one ever checks out these places like the GAO should do..all they worry about is fiscal management, not health care...
